Its been 16 years, and many of us remember where we were on September 11, 2001 when we learned our country had been attacked by terrorists. Today, take a moment of silence and remember those who lost their lives and their loved ones, those who helped us recover and all of us who have forever been impacted by September 11th! #NeverForget

The primary goal of the Ready Georgia Campaign is to provide preparedness information to Georgia citizens ahead of a disaster. For up-to-date information regarding Hurricane Irma, including evacuation and sheltering information, please visit www.gema.ga.gov . You should also download the Ready Georgia App which is ava ilable for free on both iPhone and Android devices, the key features include:

  • A customizable Ready Profile featuring a Ready kit checklist of emergency supplies and a family disaster plan
  • “I Am Safe” notification that notifies your emergency contacts that you are safe after an emergency
  • Live weather, disaster and public health alerts delivered based on your location
  • Maps that show live traffic conditions, open shelter locations, evacuation routes and more
  • Information on how to prepare for different threats and local contacts to help.
