48 HOURS LEFT TO QUALIFY
FOR BLACKHAWKS TICKETS LOTTERY

Are you a died-in-the-wool Blackhawks fan who never has the opportunity to see your hometown heroes in person?  Does your budget relegate you to being a couch potato only able to watch the five-time Stanley Cup champions on television? Have you ever had to choose between making a car or house payment rather than hold your nose and pay an outrageous sum to a ticket broker for nosebleed seats?

If you've answered in the affirmative to any of these questions, then make sure you take advantage of our database lottery.  We are seeking to update our data base with the home and email addresses of our alumni and former school families.  We live in a very mobile society.  People get married, women change their name, and the couple moves to set up housekeeping.  Workers frequently get transferred by their employer.  And, people have no qualms about regularly changing their email carrier.  Thus, there is a continued need to track down the current snail and email address of these people.

One of the goals of our Advancement Office is to communicate regularly with Saints Peter and Paul School's alumni, former school parents, grandparents, previous faculty, and friends.  To accomplish this initiative, we have mailed postcards to our alums and former school parents asking them to provide us with the current data we need to create a regular communication cycle.

While there is a place for still using the post office for certain information, the design more frequently preferred is electronic as that format can be timelier and less costly than printed materials.  Content being shared in either format could include anything from the individual successes of graduates, to information on what is new at their alma mater, as well as providing information about innovative programs and initiatives that have been introduced since their graduation.  Invitations to school events such as the Golf Outing, Auction, and Career Day can also be communicated via snail mail or email.

After consulting with area high schools and colleges on how to resolve the dilemma of outdated personal information, the Advancement Board decided to offer an incentive in the hopes of getting people to respond and update their profile.  Three weeks ago they initiated a postcard campaign seeking to gather, or verify, the name, home address, and email address of graduates from 1924-2016.  Those who returned the postcard had their names put in a hopper, and after the mail is delivered this Friday, October 21, our pastor Fr. Milota will draw one card.  The lucky recipient will receive two 200 level tickets to the Blackhawk vs. Dallas Stars game on Sunday, November 6, at 6:00 p.m. at the United Center.

If you are a former parent and aren't sure your children received the postcard mailing, they can still be part of the contest.  If you are an alum and aren't sure if one of your siblings has received this registration information, you can contact them and tell them they still have 72 hours to join in the fun.  In either case, simply have them email Advancement Director Frank Glowaty at [email protected] with their name, (maiden name also if applicable), year of graduation, home address, city, state, zip code, cell phone number, and email address.  We will fill out a card that gives them a chance to see the likes of Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook in person.

After all, this might be the best, and cheapest, opportunity you have to see a Hawks game in person this year.
