Prayer
"Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always presupposes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, as well as the Mother of God, the saints, and he himself, all teach us this: prayer is a battle. Against whom? Against ourselves and against the wiles of the tempter who does all he can to turn man away from prayer, away from union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. . ." (CCC 2725)

From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal
Dear Parents,
The excitement is mounting for Fr. Tony having to "dress like a girl" if he loses the Soles for Education challenge!
You can still donate to this great cause and/or walk with our school on October 21
st
!
FREE registration continues until September 25th. Your t-shirt will be delivered to school. SO, if you want to donate to MY team and see Fr. Tony in a dress and heels donate to
Team Knippel. If you prefer to see Mrs. Knippel in Dress Blacks (BOO!) donate to
Team Zimmer.
Whichever team you decide to support, EVERY penny stays here at St. Anthony on the Lake School!
For every $50 donation, students will receive an out of uniform pass.
For every $100 donation, students will receive an extra special pair of Soles for Education socks! So far - TEAM KNIPPEL is in the lead!
IF by chance we reach our very lofty goal of $20,000, all students will have an extra day off at Christmas break. However, every penny is important!
Last, but certainly not least, this Friday is our HOT SUMMER SLICE event! I look forward to seeing everyone there!!
Blessings!
Mrs. Ellen Knippel

When choosing a peanut-free snack for your child's class, it is important to ALWAYS check the label on the package to make sure it is free of peanuts and nuts of all kinds. This list is only to serve as a resource. It is in no way complete and is subject to manufacturer recalls and mislabeling. Manufacturers may have changed their equipment or product line and method since you last purchased an item from this sheet. READING LABELS: Some manufacturers clearly state if a product has peanut or nuts in it while others, it is almost hidden. PLEASE READ THE LABELS, each time you purchase. Do not purchase items with the allergy and ingredient alert such as: "May Contain Peanut or Tree Nuts" "Processed on shared equipment with Peanuts or Tree Nuts" "Manufactured in a plant with Peanut or Tree Nuts" "Contains Peanut or Tree Nut Ingredients" Thank you for taking the time to read the labels and discussing the topic of "safe snacks" with your child! Your diligence is keeping an allergic child safe at school.

3K watched a video about sharing and how to share. This will be something they continuously work on throughout the school year.
Fr. Tony blessed the new Mary and Baby Jesus statue on Mary's birthday. 3K learned Mary is the mother of Jesus and were very engaged during the blessing.

Prayer
"God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world:
peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among the nations of the earth."
-Pope Benedict XVI (9/11/2008)
Please keep the Dahl family in your prayers as Mary lost both her mother and father this past week.
Pray also for Jen Heidenreich's dad who just went into hospice.
