Castle Valley Lecture
Colorado Plateau Lives Amid Grazing: An Art Show and Discussion

Mary O'Brien, botanist and Utah Forests Program Director for Grand Canyon Trust, will show and describe twelve paintings by colleague and Colorado artist Heidi Snyder.  Mary will discuss the ecological story of each painting.

Build a Better World Activities:
  • Read a book about local history.
  • Attend a local government meeting.
  • Volunteer to drive a senior citizen to the store.
  • Collect food and deliver to the Grand County Food Bank.
  • Visit the Museum of Moab.
  • Volunteer at Canyonlands Care Center.
  • Take treats to the police station, firehouse, or EMS providers.
  • Join Moab Solutions for a litter, trash and recycling pickup and/or donate travel size toiletries for the homeless or others in need.
  • Volunteer at a Youth Garden Project Weed and Feed.
  • Visit with a veteran or send a thank you letter to a veteran.
  • Read a book by a local author.
  • Learn more about the Grand County Communities that Care Coalition.
  • Volunteer at a non-profit of your choice.
  • Attend the Moab Farmers Market.
  • Organize a cookout or block party with your neighbors.
  • Participate in an existing book discussion group or start your own discussion group.
