MMS Update - New Access Information
for Parents and Students

There were updates to MMS this summer, and the links that students and parents used last year have been changed.  Parent and student portals for the 2017-18 school year will open on August 1, and students in grades 8-12 can access their schedules at that time.

To access MMS and bookmark the new link, visit the York Catholic homepage and follow these quick and easy steps. Click on Current Students and Parents located at the top center; that will take you first to Resources and then to MMS Portals.  Click on the appropriate portal and login as always.

Login information has not changed.  Seventh graders will receive schedules in the mail the week of August 1, and new students will receive their schedules during New Student Orientation on August 17.  Scheduling questions may be directed to Mrs. Kathy Hand at  [email protected] .
Fall Sports

Fall Practices Open
Varsity football heat acclimation practice begins August 7 with all other Fall sports teams beginning practice on Monday, August 14.  For exact practice times, contact the head coach or Mr. Bankos at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x214.

No Practice Until Paperwork is on File
Students wishing to participate in athletics must submit the following paperwork:
  • PIAA Physical Form
  • Athlete & Parent Agreement (last page of physical form)
  • ImPACT Test
Students wishing to play a fall sport MUST submit the paperwork to the Assistant Athletic Director, Brad Hayek, no later than Wednesday, August 9, at 3 PM to be permitted to start Fall practice.  Football paperwork is due Friday, August 4, at 3 PM.

Failure to submit the paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season.  For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team.  Click here for the proper Physical & Agreement forms.  Contact Mr. Hayek at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x244 to be sure you have a valid ImPACT Test on file.

Meet the Teams
Parents and fans are invited to raise the Irish spirit and meet the athletes who will be representing York Catholic on the court, on the course, and on the playing field this fall.  Meet the Teams Night will be held Monday, August 28, at 7 PM at the football stadium.  Come out and cheer on our teams!

The Athletic Department invites "all hands on deck" on Saturday, August 12, from 7 AM-1 PM to help prep the fields, grounds, and structures for the fall season. Paint brushes, tool boxes, work gloves, and willingness to help are needed. Parents and YC supporters, along with seventh graders and older are needed. This is a service hours opportunity for students.

Changes to PA Immunization Law for All Students
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is changing school immunization regulations beginning in August 2017.  The regulations are intended to ensure that children attending school in PA are adequately protected against potential outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases.  A child must have the required medically-appropriate vaccines or a plan to complete those vaccines or risk exclusion from school.

Children in grades 7-12 need the following immunizations for attendance:
  • 4 doses of tetanus * (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
  • 4 doses of diphtheria* (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
  • 4 doses of acellular pertussis* (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
  • 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given)
  • 2 doses of measles, mumps, and rubella (usually given as MMR)
  • 3 doses of hepatitis B
  • 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity
  • 2 doses meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV)
    • 1st dose is given 11-15 years of age; a 2nd dose is required at age 16 or entry into 12th grade.
    • If the dose was given at 16 years of age or older, only one dose is required.
  • 1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap)
*   Usually given as DTaP or DTP or DT or Td

All students must submit a Certificate of Immunization form by August 25.
Click here for the required Certificate of Immunization form (green and white) to complete and submit to the York Catholic nurse detailing the dates your child's immunizations were administered.  If the form is incomplete based on the state requirements above, a 2nd form (PLAN - red and white) must be completed detailing the dates the immunizations are scheduled to be given.  Click here for the PLAN form.  The completed Certificate of Immunization (and the PLAN card, if applicable) must be returned to the school nurse by
August 25, 2017 .

Under Pennsylvania state law, students without the Certificate of Immunization form or the PLAN form on file, cannot be admitted school.

If you have any questions, please contact Diane Lupinetti, York Catholic nurse, at 717-846-8871 x221 or [email protected] or consult the PA Department of Health website at www.dontwaitvaccinate.pa.gov.
