Building a Healthy Community Together
This week I had the opportunity to attend the annual
Red Ribbon Week breakfast at
Lyons Township High School. While Red Ribbon Week is traditionally a campaign related to being drug free, the Red Ribbon Week breakfast at LT expanded its focus to living a healthy life in general.

Athletic Notes
8th Grade Boys Softball - Coach Eric Busch
The 8th Grade Boys softball team had an amazing season! Following an 8-1 regular-season campaign (and a conference championship), the Tigers made it to the tournament final, and brought home a second-place trophy. In the finale, the 8th graders battled until the end, ultimately losing to an undefeated Westchester squad 1-0 in extra innings. The tournament final was en excellent, hard-fought game, and the 8th graders made Pleasantdale proud!
7th Grade Girls Basketball - Coach Jason Munchoff
The 7th grade girls basketball team were conference champions and finished their regular season with a record of 12 wins and 0 losses.
Their final game of the year was the most exciting where they defeated a previously undefeated McClure team 21 to 19. In the Hodgkins
tournament the team made it to the championship game as well after winning two tournament games. Congratulations to the team as they won the Hodgkins tournament!
The team included Ellie D., Emily G., Madeleine H., Skylar H., Grace H., Kathryn H., Emily J., Tijana K., Sylvia K., Olivia M., Lucella R., Monica U., and manager Renna V.
8th Grade Girls Basketball - Coach Mark Dreher
The 8th grade girls basketball team had a very successful season. The team finished with 8 wins and 4 losses. Their biggest victory came against Highlands in the "Pink Out" game. They made Pleasantdale proud! Team members
included Julie O., Olivia R., Lucy S., Keeley M., Tiffany T., Olivia V., Alexandra J., Lizzie C., Ruchi S., Collette D. and Olivia H.
7th Grade Boys Softball - Coach Mike Jesewitz
The 7th grade boys softball team, the first time co-conference champions for the school, finished the season on an uphill swing with a record of 4-3, nearly avenging an earlier loss to a tough Westchester team in the season ending tournament. The bats came alive as the year went on, and this team really grew together and all team members learned to contribute to the success of the team.
In no particular order, your 7th grade co-conference champion Pleasantdale Boys softball team: Daniel D., Cameron S., Jackson R., Jason B., Brandon S., Will C., Bryce B., Joey G., Charlie B., Jack B., Wesley L., Seanav P., Michael M.
