NIEA Statement on 47th Convention and Trade Show in
Orlando, FL

Washington, D.C. Yatibaey Evans, the President of the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) issued the following statement today:

"The destruction brought by Hurricane Irma this past weekend in Florida is a stark reminder of the force and power of nature. As we prepare to travel to Orlando for our annual Convention in the coming weeks, our thoughts and prayers are with the students and communities of the state. We are in contact with tribal schools in Florida to determine how we can best provide support and resources to the impacted communities. At Convention, we will provide information to our attendees on ways to support these efforts.  We look forward to seeing the entire NIEA family in Orlando in October."
