New Business Council Members Become Career Coaches

Three new members who joined the Northwest Vista College Business Council are diving right into supporting student learning. GM Financial's Senior Vice President Wayne Saiz, Human Resource Manager Sabrina G. Hodges and Vice President Carolyn Sartori have committed to serve as NVC Business Leader Career Coaches during the upcoming fall semester. 

The Business Leader Career Coaching Program was established by the NVC Business Council two years ago to provide mentorship to students and prepare them for gainful employment. Career Coaches each commit to 16 weeks -- one semester --
of class presentations on topics such as:
  • Goal setting
  • Career development 
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Financial literacy
  • Code of ethics

Become a HalloVISTA Sponsor 

Northwest Vista College President Dr. Ric Baser, faculty and staff invite you to become a sponsor for the third annual HalloVISTA. An outdoor movie screening of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" will be shown by NVC's Lago Vista on Sat., Oct. 21, 2017. Other activities include a c ostume contest, haunted house, food trucks, bounce houses, petting zoo, trick-or-treating and more. All activities are appropriate for children, teenagers and adults.

The event makes the college accessible to the community by bringing children, teenagers and their families onto the campus to provide a safe place for Halloween events.

Fun activities will start at 4:00 p.m. The movie screening will begin at sundown, soon after 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
