BCCC President to Retire

Baltimore City Community College President and CEO Gordon F. May plans to retire next summer after four years leading the institution, the college announced Friday.
"It has been the opportunity of my lifetime to serve the citizens of Baltimore City and our state in restoring the promise of community college to every student we serve," May said in a statement.

May joined the college in September 2014 while it was under pressure to fix long-standing issues or face the loss of its accreditation. Under his watch, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education lifted the college off "warning status" in 2015 and reaffirmed the college's accreditation.
Columbia Workforce Center Protective Services 2017

The newly renovated Columbia Workforce Center presents Protective Services 2017 on Wednesday, September 20th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Allied Barton Security Services, Paragon Systems, Omniplex World Service and many others are waiting to speak with job seekers who are excited  about pursuing a career in the Protective Services.

LDC Funds New Athletic Facility at Meade High School

County Executive Steve Schuh, School Superintendent George Arlotto, Senator Ed DeGrange, Delegate Pam Beidle, Councilman Pete Smith, Cordish Global Gaming CEO Jo Weinberg, and Local Development Council (LDC) Chair Karen McJunkin cut the ribbon on the new athletic facility at Meade High School. The $1.4 million project was funded by video lottery terminal (VLT) funds generated by Live! Casino & Hotel. The LDC advises the County Executive on the needs and priorities of the communities surrounding Live! Casino and the expenditure of VLT funds, and is a Granting Partner of the Partnership.
