Sharing life
On Sunday, July 16, 2017, Lilliana Marie Smith was brought into the kingdom of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. She is pictured with her parents and pastor, The Rev. Timothy Halboth, Grace, Redford, MI. Lilliana's mother had leukemia as a teen, and subsequently cannot have children. After years of trying to adopt and thousands of dollars, the parents gave up. In stepped their best friends. They had their family, so they became surrogate parents and Lilliana - upon birth - was adopted. The Baptismal sponsors? You guessed it! The biological parents! Now Lilliana has two "step" sisters, too!
Sharing with others
Packages4Patriots, a mission of Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Elk Grove Village, IL, shared the results from "Operation: Christmas in July." There were 35 boxes crammed with goodies and wrapped gifts to send to service members overseas.
Sharing soles
The youth group of Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace, Menomee Falls, WI, spent two hours working in the "Soles for Jesus" factory. They cleaned, sorted, and organized donated shoes that are being shipped to Africa. Watch the video below to understand the importance of helping those in dire need.

Sharing hope
Volunteers showed up and God shone out at Epic Church, Shelby Township, MI. The Prayer Table wasn't empty all day at the GoodLife Food Giveaway! More than 70 people were affected through this Food Giveaway. God is good!
Sharing the Word
New Life Chinese, San Francisco, CA, conducts a monthly Lutheran worship service at San Francisco City's Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center (for the poor and terminally ill and patients who are convalescing). Andrew Yee is in charge of this ministry. During the service, they sing a lot of hymns, say the Apostles' Creed, have a message, pray and say the Lord's Prayer, have the Benediction; and then afterward have a Communion service for about five-six patients.
