WORSHIP THIS SUMMER

THIS WEEKEND

Saturday, July 29 @ 5:15pm - Crossroads Underground
Sunday, July 30 @ 10am - Crossroads Sanctuary

Life as Sacrament

From the tiniest blade of lush green grass to the splendor of the starry night, our universe is filled with spectacular sights, sounds and experiences that  open our hearts to the wonder of all that is sacred. Sacraments are not limited to any set of beliefs, any particular building or location, and certainly not to any one group of individuals. We are all free to experience every day of our lives as a sacrament if we live with the intention to see the world in this way.

Over the next few weeks we will explore some of the ways we can slow down and become more aware of the many ways in which all of life can be lived and experienced as a sacrament.

Join the conversation during our weekend worship gatherings and stay around for danish, donuts and great conversation.

Special Bonus Film - Immediately following  Sunday worship we will show a one hour film (Saving Grace, Saving Place) about Holy Cross Abbey. Located just a short drive from here outside Berryville, VA, this beautiful space has been spiritual home to generations of people who have sought to find peace and joy in life as they view all of life as a sacrament. On August 13th at  3:00 we will all have the opportunity to engage in a  Sunday afternoon Silent Retreat at the Abbey.

INTERNATIONAL MISSION TRIP - GUATEMALA

Porch de Salomon's mission is to serve the Least, the Lost and the Last. This is a one week experience where team members take part in building a small concrete block home for an impoverished indigenous Mayan family. The days are spent constructing the home with time built in for interaction with the local people and learning about their culture and way of life. No construction experience is necessary, just a heart and mind open to the transformational power of service!

Total cost of the trip is approximately $1,400.00. A brief informational meeting is scheduled for August 13 at 11:15am in the Discipleship Room at Crossroads.

Come and learn what Porch de Salomon is all about. You can also check out their website at  http://porchdesalomon.org/about-us/ or if you have any questions, you can contact  Kathy MacKrell.

School is just around the corner and parents have already been shopping for school supplies for their children.  Crossroads will be tutoring at Payne Elementary School in Southeast, DC.  Many of their students will not have the supplies they need due to the lack of family resources.  The teachers at Payne have asked for our help in providing these school supplies for their students.
