The City of Edmonton Parks and Roads Services has developed two articles that seniors organizations can insert in newsletters and communication with members/clients to provide information on the City's snow removal program. You're invited to use the articles on winter roadway maintenance and winter sidewalk maintenance and credit the City of Edmonton.

Edmonton's demographics, economic position, immigration patterns and philanthropic trends will significantly impact the work of Edmonton's nonprofit organizations in 2017. At this event, you'll hear from three expert panels as they shine spotlights on the facts, trends and insights in key areas of data, economics and social trends.

This interactive workshop will give participants tips on how to effectively talk to seniors about their sexual wellness. Caregivers will also have the opportunity to explore their own values and beliefs around sexuality. This position is responsible for providing Follow-up and Outreach services to isolated older adults with complex issues. This includes assessing needs, providing information, support and developing a comprehensive client centred case plan. It may also include client advocacy, system navigation and connection to other resources in the community. This role may include working with older adults experiencing hoarding, homelessness and/or other complex issues impacting their lives. 

The successful candidate will be College or University prepared in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Community Development, Human Ecology or Nursing and be registered with their specific regulatory body. Experience working with older adults and knowledge of case management is required. An understanding of Community Development is an asset. A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle with 2 million dollars of liability insurance is also required.

During the month of November all Alberta seniors are encourage to participate in the Seniors' Keep Active Challenge. Join the Challenge as an individual, group, fitness class, or walking club and log your steps or minutes of activity. Your steps will be added to the provincial total. You can choose from 12 different routes around Alberta or customize your own. For example: Edmonton to Drumheller is 350,000 steps (280 km) and Mundare to Vegreville is 30,000 steps (24 km).
