Who is making a difference in your community?

Mayor Marjorie Sloan is gearing up for the 7 th annual Mayor's Awards for Excellence event, and she needs your nominations to tell us who in the Golden community has really made a difference! This is the last chance to submit your nominations, which are due by 5 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 30.

This year, the City of Golden is teaming up with the Colorado School of Mines for this event to highlight our partnerships and how we can work together to make Golden even greater.

There are two award categories in which to nominate. The first is for residents and/or businesses who contribute to Golden in an extraordinary way. Nominations should explain the contributions the nominee makes to the Golden community and why these contributions are exceptional.
The second will be the "Town & Gown" award for an individual or group of individuals who, through their extraordinary efforts, support the Colorado School of Mines and the Golden community. This individual or group, through their actions, exhibits commitment and dedication to the betterment of Mines and Golden.

If you know a person or a company that fits either of these categories, please tell us about them! You can submit your nominations online, by email to  bgoldstein@cityofgolden.net, or in person at City Hall.

Keep reading to learn more about what's happening in Golden, and have a great week!
