JML adds three machines as well as freeform CAM software to enhance productivity

JML Optical invested in an eSX 150 Twin for grinding, UFF 300 for polishing, OptiTrace 5000 surface profilometer for metrology, and PROSurf freeform CAM software for making deterministic corrections. OptiPro hosted the bi-annual SBIR Review Meeting on September 20th, which highlights the exciting research being conducted by a variety of companies serving the precision optics industry. A full meeting room consisting of representatives from the U.S. government, industry, and academia viewed presentations from companies involved in a variety of SBIR programs that aim to increase manufacturing efficiency of optics with defense applications.
Upon the conclusion of the open meeting, attendees headed to OptiPro's 30,000 square-foot facility for a networking event to see live demos of OptiPro's innovative optical fabrication platforms.  
OptiPro recognizes the importance of the SBIR program to facilitate the advancement of American-made technology for precision optics fabrication. The development of these solutions will not only help precision optics manufacturers prosper, but also achieve cost-effective manufacturing of current and future military optical components.
