DC MOVES - Fall Forum Plans

Although we are still in July, we are planning for the Fall. The next DC MOVES Forum date has been set for September 15. Please mark your calendars.

At the Forum, we are hoping to share our upgraded website and introduce a new logo.  As interim measure, the current DC MOVES site has been updated recently.

We will also continue to build service provider capacity with presentations from participating members and guided group discussions. It is all about sharing and learning!

Funds Sought for Settlement & Integration Services in Dufferin County

The County of Dufferin recently submitted an application through Grants Ontario for funds to develop settlement and integration services for newcomers to Dufferin County. If successful, funds will be disbursed over a three year period, and will support the successful settlement and integration of newcomers with targeted, quality services. The application included letters of support from Georgian College and Headwaters Communities in Action.

The ultimate goal of the program is to help newcomers integrate successfully and become fully engaged in the social, cultural, civic, and economic life of Dufferin County. Services will be tailored to the needs of high priority groups and/or vulnerable populations.

Programs will provide newcomers with information on the services available to meet their needs during the settlement and integration process, orientation to Canadian life and culture, assistance with settlement related issues, and referral and service linking to resources in the broader community.
