A BIG St. Josaphat THANK YOU to Judy Lovero, Charlene Herda, Kris Swanson, Makayla Swanson, Emily Peterson and Jacques Cattan who welcomed visitors from the Sheffield Garden Walk into our beautiful church on the weekend of July 22-23.  From 12 - 5:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday, we had almost 50 people come in to say a quick prayer or take our self-guided windows tour.  (You can too!  Brochures are in a basket on the tables behind the pews.)

We had such a great turnout, we ran out of brochures!   We did promise visitors who came later their own copy if they decide to join the parish!

The visitors included a young couple from Logan Square, two young men with one of their moms who live near St Alphonsus, some middle-aged women who had gone to our school some years ago, and some suburbanites who weren't used to our towering buildings!

A woman came in who had been married here 30 years ago. She now lives in Edison Park with her husband (CPD) and her five boys. She was almost in tears looking at the place! She said it looked different.

One man stopped in just to say "hello" to Jesus!

Everyone remarked on the beauty of the church. Many said, "I have always wanted to come in here," or "I've lived in the neighborhood and always wanted to see inside."  Lots of people wanted to know who St. Josaphat was and when the church was built.

Most importantly, everyone felt welcomed by our gracious parishioner hosts.
