Following the September 5 announcement that the federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program may come to an end in March, Fullerton College responded in a number of ways to provide support for undocumented students and share information about state programs that will not be impacted even if there is a rollback to the federal program. Food Drive to Support the FC Food Bank
Health Services and PTK Honor Society are teaming up for FC Food Fest on Sept. 20. As part of this event, they are collecting food donations for the Fullerton College Food Bank between Sept. 5 - 19. Please drop off canned and dry food donations to one of the 10 food donation bins on campus or at the Health Center. The donated food will be displayed during the FC Food Fest event on Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the quad. FC Food Fest will feature art activities, food samples provided by Sodexo Dining Services, and nutrition education. For more information, contact Health Services at 714-992-7093.
Student Spotlight: Meet Sabrina Espino Franco!
Fullerton College students come from all walks of life - each one with an individual story of how they arrived at FC, challenges and achievements they've experienced along the way, and most importantly, a goal of where they're headed beyond Fullerton College. Sabrina Espino Franco is graduate of Savanna High School majoring in Kinesiology and is expected to graduate in Spring 2018.

President's Open Forum Set For Sept. 18, Office Hour Will Be Sept. 21
In an effort to encourage communication and strengthen teamwork across campus, President Greg Schulz has scheduled a series of Open Forums during the 2017-2018 academic year. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to attend.

Quadchella Returns Sept. 12
Quadchella, the student-led rock concert on the quad, returns this fall on Tuesday from 5-
9 p.m. There will be bands and artists performing, and for the first time, there will be an open-mic portion. There will be free pizza and cookies for students with Associated Students Benefits. Several clubs will also be out.

Habits of Mind: MindFULL Growth Initiative
Staff Development is pleased to provide an exciting slate of activities as part of the Habits of Mind: MindFULL Growth Initiative this fall.
Beginning this Monday, staff are invited to Mindful Mondays at noon in Room 228 to engage in guided mindfulness practice. Annual High School Counselor's Breakfast Seeking Speakers
Instructors who attended a high school at either FJUHSD, PYLSD or AUHSD and went on to attend FC or another community college before transferring are being sought for a panel during this event. The goal of this panel is to share with local high school counselors experiences as local students going on to community college and transferring. The Classified Lounge is Now Open!
Classified Senate is excited to announce the reopening of the Classified Lounge! Located next to Stinger's Cafe, the lounge is available for use by all FC classified professionals. Staff may enter from the north side facing the 700 Building parking lot. The lounge is meant as a shared space for classified staff to recharge during their workday. Meetings or gatherings that would make the lounge inaccessible to others will be discouraged per the guidelines approved by the vice president of administrative services.

Pluralism, Inclusion & Equity Series
This series offers a variety of workshops and trainings by current researchers and experts in areas of pluralism, cultural diversity competence and inclusion. The Four Skills of Cultural Diversity Competence workshop is on Sept. 22 and 29 at 8 a.m. in Room 1420. Football
Ranked No. 1 in the state heading into this week's game against Cerritos College, the Hornets did not let their fans down as they won big 45-9 over the Falcons at Yorba Linda's Nathan Shapell Stadium Saturday afternoon. Up Next: The Hornets (2-0 overall) will hit the road on Saturday, Sept. 16 when they travel to College of the Canyons for another non-conference match up. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
Women's Water Polo
Fullerton opened up their season over the weekend at the Saddleback College Tournament winning three out of four games. The Hornets opened with San Diego Mesa on Friday and won 14-8. In the day's second game, FC won big over Palomar 15-3. On Saturday, FC dropped one to Sierra 9-6, and then beat Grossmont 17-5.
Up Next: The Hornets (3-1 overall) will host Saddleback College this Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Men's Water Polo
In their first game of the season last Thursday, FC beat El Camino College 15-12 at home. Then they went up to the Citrus College Tournament where they swept through the competition beating Ventura 11-8, San Diego Miramar 25-12, and Rio Hondo 14-9.
Up Next: The Hornets (5-0 overall) will host Saddleback College on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m.
Cross Country
The women's Cross Country team opened up their 2017 season in Oceanside competing in the Palomar Invitational and finished third out of eight teams posting 110 points. The men's team opened up the season in Oceanside running in the four mile race at the Palomar Invitational taking 5th place overall out of eleven teams.

Women's Volleyball
The Hornets brought down Palomar College 3-1 last Wednesday on the road. Then they traveled up to Santa Barbara City College and dropped both of their matches 3-1 to Santa Barbara and 3-0 to Bakersfield.
Up Next: The Hornets will look to pick it back up when they host Golden West College in an Orange Empire Conference match-up this Friday, Sept.15 at 6 p.m.
Men's Soccer
The Hornets lost another tough one to Southwestern College last Friday 2-0.
Up Next: FC (1-5 overall) will host Glendale College this Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 3 p.m.
Women's Soccer
The FC women's soccer team took on another top-ranked team in Rio Hondo College last Friday and lost their first game of the season in a nail-bitter 1-0.

The Fullerton College Art Department is proud to be in the possession of a very fine and envied collection of paintings, drawings, prints, and other objets d'art. "Color and Contrast" seeks to highlight and share some of the collection's finest examples, including works by prominent and influential figures such as Milford Zornes, Ruth Ellen Weisberg, Hung Liu, and Thomas Campbell. Stunning works by lesser known artists are also featured in this important exhibition that signals the beginning of a new, productive and exciting academic year.
