Board of Supervisors Meeting Highlights - September 6
Parks and Recreation Board Presents Playground Plan Members of the Moon Township Parks and Recreation Board presented a detailed plan for the new playground at Moon Park. The plan calls for replacement of all existing equipment with new features including natural and adventure play areas, a 2- to 5-year-old play area, a 5- to 12-year-old play area, a splash pad, an obstacle course, and an adult exercise area all joined by an ADA accessible pathway. While the township secured a $250,000 grant from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and budgeted a matching $250,000 for the project, additional funds are needed to complete the project. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Interested businesses, organizations and individuals should contact Amy Ottaviani, Community Engagement and Sponsorship Coordinator, at 412.262.1703 ext. 402 to learn more. Visit moonparks.org to view the plan.

Also, the supervisors approved a Land Development Plan for University Centre that will include retail shops and restaurants next to the Hilton Garden Inn at 9898 University Boulevard.

Several MCA-TV original shows have won national and state-wide awards including "The Doctor Is In", produced by Dr. Marc Schneiderman, and "Soak it Up: A Storm Water Documentary". These award-winning shows express the evident value of community-produced programming.
