"Whoever welcomes you welcomes me..." ~ Jesus

Dear ,

These first four Sundays together have been a great gift to me. I've so enjoyed gathering with all of you each Sunday to worship God and begin our journey together. It's been a joy to get to know Westlake better as a church and to begin to get to know some of you individually. It is a process that will take a while but we are off to a good start! Thank you for your warm welcome and kindness to my family and me as we've made this transition. It's meant the world!

In a continued effort to get to know you I have begun to meet with Sunday school classes for a portion of their time together on Sunday mornings. Last Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting the Preston Wyatt class. On August 6th, I'll visit the Bridges class and Family Foundations on August 27th.

Don't forget that THIS Sunday the youth will lead us in worship! Several youth and adults will share stories of their incredible experiences serving Christ this summer in mission. There will be great music (as always) and PICTURES! Don't miss it!

I'm excited about the journey we've begun and can't wait to watch our lives and ministry together unfold in the coming weeks and months!

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Tracey

Summer Soul Food

Our intergenerational summer Sunday school alternative continues this Sunday at 10:10am in the Gym with "Christmas in July."

The following Sunday, 8/6 bring your canned goods for our "food labyrinth" that will help support the food pantry at Grace UMC in Granite Shoals.

Be thinking about what ice cream you're excited to make (or just taste) at the Ice Cream Chill-Off at our culminating Summer Soul Food session on August 20.
Back to School Blast

Continuing a WUMC tradition, we will be volunteering with Parker Lane UMC to provide the Back to School Blast event, where children can receive free school supplies, free clothing and shoes, free backpacks, and in some years, free eye or dental health checkups. Your gifts of time and money make this possible. Please contact Misty Blahuta for more information or to volunteer.  [email protected]. This year's event is Saturday, August 12, 10am - noon with an hour before and after for setup and tear down.
