Volunteer kickoff event
was good time for all

We had so many people at our Volunteer Kickoff event May 1, people had to park blocks away, and we barely had room for everybody. It was a good problem to have!

If this event was any indication of how we can expect things to go in the coming months of this campaign, we are well on our way to success. Thanks to Kathryn Wallace for her in spiring presentation about the role of volunteers, thanks to Senators Rollie Heath, Andy Kerr and Matt Jones for their attendance and their remarks, thanks to Steven and Amber Wilson for opening their home, but
Sandy Baca, Margaret Chapman, Cheryl Cheney

thanks especially to all the committed volunteers. Former Rep. Sue Windels is still looking for people to help with the postcard campaign - she never gives up!

If you want to volunteer for the campaign, but you missed the event - it's never too late! Just send an email to RachelforColorado@gmail.com. Or go to the website, RachelforColorado.com, and click on the volunteer button.
More endorsements!

For your reading pleasure, we offer these additional testimonials from people who support our State Senate campaign, beginning with Gov. John Hickenlooper:
"Rachel Zenzinger cares about quality jobs, and making sure we are fair and smart in how we create them. She is an energetic leader with a strong commitment to public service. We need her back in the Colorado State Senate. Let's get to work!"

Others:

Former Jeffco School Board Member Jill Fellman: "Rachel Zenzinger is the woman for the job in the Colorado Senate. She is energetic and intelligent, she has deep experience in the field of education, and she will do what it takes to create a positive environment for our public schools. We need to remain vigilant against the politicians who would erode the work we have done on behalf of our students over the years, and Rachel will help maintain that vigilance."

Arvada City Councilman Mark McGoff: "I have worked with Rachel Zenzinger for many years, in many capacities, and I have always known her to bring a huge amount of enthusiasm and positive energy to every project. She is the kind of person who gets things done, who makes people around her feel good about the process and the outcome, and she has my vote for the Colorado Senate."

Thank you for these words of encouragement!

Brain Injury Alliance

I had the privilege of attending the Brain Injury Alliance's th eir Brews with the Board event recentl y, where they educated attendees about the ways they are helping victims of brain injuries recover and get themselves back into a situation that can make their lives as satisfying as possible.

Thanks to Cheryl Catsoulis of the Journey Brain Injury Community Services in Arvada for inviting me to attend. We had a great visit to the Journey on 64th Avenue during my time in the State Senate, and I had a chance to see the impressive things that they accomplish there.

Fundraising update

In the most recent reporting period, we finished with just over $48,000 for the campaign. We had been hoping for an even $50,000, so now we have that extra $2,000 to make up NOW. That's right, we have another quick fundraising turnaround, as scheduled by the Colorado Secretary of State office, with the next reporting deadline this Wednesday. Could you help us get a head start on that $2,000 (and toward the next milestone of $100,000!)? We have considerable costs in association with this campaign for District 19 in the State Senate, including literature for canvassers, postage, and enough advertising to ensure that all the voters who have been so disenchanted with my opponent learn that they have a great option in this election. Please click here to donate directly online.
Donations

Every important political campaign these days requires significant funding, and this one is no exception. We need to find a way to pay for brochures, direct mail pieces, advertisements and other tools to help make voters aware of their choices. Please consider making any level of contribution to the "Rachel Zenzinger for Colorado" campaign, and help me get elected in 2016.
