Our Mission
"The Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce exists to advance the prosperity and well-being of the business community, particularly its members, with a goal of improving the quality of life in this community."

While Paula is away . . .
Summer is in full swing with lots of outdoor activities, weekend getaways and vacations. Even part of our Chamber staff (Paula) is away for a couple weeks. But business continues, day after day, businesses are operating and flowing with the season. If summer is a busy time for your business, be sure to take advantage and network, building relationships with your customers and your fellow chamber members. You can still market as part of your membership by sending the Chamber an ad. Next week and every other week is member news week where we feature member ads. Simple email us your ad in a jpeg format to [email protected]

Don't forget about your social media avenues which are a great way to build and maintain customer loyalties. A vibrant social media profile will keep your current customers connected on a daily basis, but also provide you free advertising to their family and friends. If you have news in the off weeks of our e-newsletter, please send it to us to put on our Facebook page.  If you haven't "liked" the Chamber page, please do so!

Even if summer is not your busy season, use this time to reach out in the same ways. Grow your network, your social media profile, plan for the upcoming year, advertise with your Chamber and participate in Chamber activities. The Chamber's next scheduled Business After Hours is Thursday, August 17, 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Morning Pointe of Danville, located at 1375 Perryville Road in Danville. You don't want to miss it. Have a great summer! Hopefully, you will be taking a vacation of your own this summer!
SAVE THE DATE -DISASTER PREPAREDNESS WORKSHOP . . .
Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Workshop September 21

Kentucky ranks in the Top 10 for natural disasters. Be prepared.

It takes years to build a successful business, but just minutes to be destroyed by a disaster.
Business owners should:
  • Understand their vulnerabilities
  • Plan for a disaster
  • Periodically test the disaster plan
SBA provides training on disaster preparation and recovery as well as information on disaster recovery resources for your small business or nonprofit organization.
SBA also provides low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters.
SBA disaster loans can be used to repair or replace the following items damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster: real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, and inventory and business assets.
Plan to take 90 minutes from your busy schedule and learn what you should know BEFORE you need to  know.
Michael Ashcraft from the SBA and Alison Broady from the IRS will be on hand to share information with you.
To register, call the Chamber at 859-236-2361, ext. 120.
Paula attends National Conference for Chamber Executives
ACCE CONFERENCE
From July 16-19, I was fortunate, thanks to a scholarship from the KY Association of Chamber Executives to cover the registration fee, to attend the American Chamber of Commerce Executives National Conference in Nashville, KY.  From keynote speakers to opportunities each day for multiple workshops to networking with other Chamber executives from throughout the U.S. and beyond (Canada, Vietnam, etc.), this provided me a wonderful chance to hear about trends and offerings from other Chambers.  I plan to implement one or two of the ideas I gained to benefit you, our members.  I hope you will be open to visits from me over the next few months.

Your suggestions as to how the Chamber can assist your business is always welcome.  As we transition from your workforce development experts to the future, your input will guide our next steps.

Thank you for your continued support and investment in your Danville-Boyle County Chamber of Commerce!

New Artificial Intelligence Catches Costly B2B Payment Mistakes
Even as the B2B industry marches toward digital invoicing and electronic payments, there are still many erroneous transactions that plague accounts payable (AP) departments. And the ongoing quest to solve these problems via manual auditing prove to be a headache as well. That is where artificial intelligence may hold the key to reducing payment mistakes.
Supply chain management company, APEX Analytix, recently released a new solution that aims to not only automate the AP recovery audit process, but to enhance its capabilities through artificial intelligence and other next-generation technologies according to pymnts.com
