2017 ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The Art of History

Music. Dance. Literature. Photography. Sculpture. Painting. The arts can enrich, renew, and inform our engagement with historic places and our relationship to the past. Join us  to share and discover strategies for using the arts to interpret historic sites and collections  at the GHHN Annual Conference  at Bard College/Montgomery Place in Annandale-on-Hudson on Tuesday, October 10 . The 2017 Annual Conference will feature break-out sessions featuring your peers, office hours with grant funding organizations, special tours of Montgomery Place, a large group art activity, lite breakfast, networking luncheon, full-day exhibit hall, the Awards for Excellence ceremony, and more!

This year, we are looking for breakout sessions that address how you have used the arts to interpret your site or collections in new and different ways. If you've curated an art installation inspired by archives, created a graphic novel celebrating moments in history, incorporated music or dramatic performances into your interpretation, or even had pieces of furniture commissioned as modern partners to historical collections - we want to learn all about it! We are especially interested to hear about:
- hands-on art experiences
- immersive experiences
- public programming
- using art to create a memorable connection to history
- using art and history to increase community engagement

Session presenters will receive a discounted registration rate of $25!
