Keeping Families Close at RMHCCIN
Mission Moment: A Place of Respite

When little Salima was diagnosed in utero with a rare heart condition, her mother, Soeuba Baba, knew she
had a long road ahead. Stunted growth, labored breathing and chronic sickness led to Salima needing heart surgery at just four-months-old. With limited
resources in their West African country of Togo, Salima's pediatrician recommended treatment in the United States, specifically at Riley Hospital for
Children at IU Health in Indianapolis.

What a month! On Friday, July 14, we set up camp on Monument Circle for a fun day of collecting pop tabs! With the warm sun shining down on us, music from Edison Playground playing in the background, delicious aromas from Jack's BBQ Shack and Byrne's Grilled Pizza food trucks and visions of vivid face-painting by Willing Hands Designs, we accepted pop tab donations both large and small. As a result, we collected over nine million pop tabs in just three hours to help keep families close! Thank you to all who braved the traffic and joined us for this fabulous event. B e sure to check out of photos from the big day on our Facebook page !

Looking forward, we have even more ways for you to get involved! From providing a delicious, home-cooked meal to cheering on our Indianapolis Indians -- there are many ways you and your friends or family can help keep families close. Read below to find out more!

Adopt-a-Room Partner: RenPSG

The Adopt-a-Room program is a year-long sponsorship of a room or continuing care apartment at our Limestone and Riley Houses. The program provides families with much more than just a roof over their heads -- it helps to provide support, home-cooked meals and relief from their stressful situations. Most importantly, room partners are helping families focus on what matters most -- their seriously-ill or injured child.

This month, we would like to take the time to thank RenPSG Philanthropic Services Group for keeping families close year-round with their sponsorship. We appreciate your support!
