Welcome to The Family!

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to the family.  We invite you to become a member of a family of believers God is using to "reach to teach, teach to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will choose to attend the reunion to receive the love God has given us to give to you specifically!   #Galatians610  #HarvestTime  #HolySpiritRestatMTC

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.
Summer Rains!
A Special Invitation from Pastor

Beginning this Sunday, and every Sunday thereafter until the end of September, come expecting a revival.

Yes, every Sunday is "Revival Sunday" at Memorial Tabernacle Church. Invite and bring those who need to hear about Jesus, friends and family, the sick, and anyone in need of a spiritual refreshing and deliverance to our services at 10:30 A.M.

Hear the anointed preached Word delivered by our Pastor, pastoral staff, and guests speakers throughout the summer. God is doing a "new thing" at MTC.  We are believing God for one hundred souls coming to Christ.

Join us each Sunday during the Summer Rains!
If You Missed the 58th & Telegraph Block Party Worship...

Awe-inspiring!
Life-changing!
Revealing!
Church-changing!
Encouraging!
Great!
Fun!

Words from those who attended the Block Party Worship Sunday! We are so excited for what God is doing, taking us outside the walls, and sharing our love for Him with the community.  Songs of praise caused the community to sing along and clap their hands!  The word of encouragement from Pastor reminded us of God's unfailing and unwavering love!  No matter what we do or how long we have strayed away from Him, He is there waiting for us!

Be there in August, September, and now October! We are claiming North Oakland for Christ, and  we are bringing the community together to be encouraged, fellowship, share with each other, and receive resource information.  Bring your love, generosity, positivity, and pledge to "Stand with Memorial Tabernacle Church in Support Community Unity, Impact, & Love!"

Notes From Sunday's Sermon
"KILL THE FATTED CALF"  ( Luke 15:11-31 )

Note: Sunday we took it to the streets! Our service today was held outside for our Summer Worship Outdoor series. These services will be held on the fourth Sundays through the month of October.

In biblical times, people would often keep at least one piece of livestock that was fed a special diet to fatten it up, thus making it more flavorsome when prepared as a meal. Slaughtering this livestock was to be done on rare and special occasions.

Jesus gave a powerful illustration of justifying grace in the parable than Jesus' parable of the Prodigal Son. Let us consider this: According to the National Runaway Safe-line between 1.6-2.8 million youth runaway each year in the United States. Children can begin running as young as ages 10-14. The youngest are the most at-risk for the dangers of street life.

The Prodigal Son left the provision of his father's house. He requested and took his inheritance prior to the appointed time. He wasted what he had been given. He sank to the lowest point he had known. Social statistics state: One in seven young people between the ages of 10 and 18 will run away, and youth between the age of 12 to 17 are more at risk of homelessness than adults. Shockingly, 75 percent of runaways are female!

Jesus said in the parable that this young man ". . . came to himself!" Deep on the inside of each of us we have a desire survive. If we have a healthy relationship with our earthly father it is normal to want his approval. This young man felt convicted that he had blew it. Blew what? The material blessings that were from his father. But more than that, he blew the chance to make his father proud (or so he thought).

His father welcomed him home with great joy! Whenever a sinner comes home to God there is great joy in heaven! The angels rejoice! And so should the church! Praise God for the conversion experience of a lost one being found!--USK

Because of Christ,
Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.
