Robert Andrews Salon & Spa turns to DataLink for Tech Makeover
Centrally located between Washington DC, Annapolis and Baltimore, Robert Andrews Salon & Spa in Gambrills, MD delivers one of the richest, most indulgent experiences of any destination spa on the East Coast.

You have to visit and experience their relaxing and results-driven treatments. Visit their website to see everything they have to offer:

Adding new salon and spa services over a 20-year period, today's guests enjoy relaxation and rejuvenation at the modern 32,000-square foot facility in the Village at Waugh Chapel. As is often the case when businesses expand rapidly, the IT infrastructure behind the scenes can become a tangle of cabling resembling a perm gone wrong.

Understanding that their tech tranquility was slipping away, Robert Andrews called in DataLink for a tech makeover. DataLink reorganized, bundled and labeled all the cable connections, making everything easy to find and saving Robert Andrews hassles, time and money when they needed to perform moves, adds, and changes.

If network infrastructure issues are cramping your style, DataLink has solutions that are right for your organization - at a cost that makes sense.

6 unanticipated business impacts of Ramsomware
Loss of data access is only one of the impacts ransomware can have on businesses...

1. It's not just the ransom but the time and money you need to invest in tracking down the security holes that allowed the initial attack.

2. There is a severe loss of productivity when employees are locked out of the data and applications they need to perform routine tasks and support customers.

3. There is the risk that the infection can spread to your other locations and to customers and partners who log in to services provided by your IT infrastructure.

4. There is the possibility of damage to your business reputation if the attack becomes public knowledge.

5. Delays in information access and information flow could even put lives at risk, especially if systems in healthcare, law enforcement, government, and military become infected.

6. In certain industries like healthcare and finance a ransomware attack can trigger federal investigation, regulatory scrutiny, and legal action if it is found that reasonable precautions were not taken to prevent breaches.

DataLink's security experts help protect what counts.

What can YOU do to protect your business from Ransomware?
Ransomware infections can be devastating, but the good news is that there are preventive measures users and administrators can take to protect the IT infrastructure from being hijacked:
  • Back-up all critical information and test backups regularly. Network-attached backups can also be affected by ransomware, so critical backups should be stored offline.
  • Keep operating systems and software up-to-date with the latest patches. Doing so greatly reduces the number of exploitable entry points available to an attacker.
  • Maintain up-to-date anti-virus software, and scan all software downloaded from the Internet prior to executing.
  • Restrict users' ability (permissions) to install and run software applications. This helps prevent malware from running or limit its spread throughout the network.
  • Avoid enabling macros from email attachments. This is a common way malware is executed on computers. It is best to block email messages with attachments from suspicious sources. Do not click on unsolicited web links in emails.
  • Use application whitelisting to block unapproved programs and malicious software from running.
  • Report suspicious behavior of computers and servers immediately so they can be disconnected from the network and limit the spread of malware.
DataLink can work with your people to set up more effective security policies and best practices that can better defend your business.
