A Note from Our Executive Director

We are in the final stretch of planning for our annual fall luncheon being held on October 7 at the Pearl Stable. Believe me, I have attended my share of fundraising galas. It is a staple of the social scene of San Antonio. But, what a great tradition, gathering with friends and colleagues over a meal and a program to raise money for a worthwhile cause. San Antonio has got to be at the top of the list of the most giving cities in the nation. Read more here...

Book Buddy Update

It has been kind of a slow summer, time to reflect on last year's book drives and think about how to do an even bigger, better job in this coming year.

In May almost all the books collected in the last year were selected and taken home by kids in Title 1 elementary schools. This year we managed to give away a total of over 13,000 books - dozens of boxes collected, sorted, and packed up by energetic Book Buddies volunteers. Some of you got to go to the book celebrations and view the excitement first-hand - such a fun, rewarding experience!
