Why Foster?

Because you will be the only hope for animals in situations like this:
Puppies in mud
Click on photo to see these pups safely in their foster home!

Fostering animals is very rewarding. And sometimes makes you laugh!
Click on the photo below to see "the call of the mild!"

If you are interesting in learning more about fostering, see Bethann. The animals need you!

Lilly coming home Of course, the big news is Lilly is safe & sound back at Orphans! Lilly, who was adopted earlier this week but got loose & was on the lam, led staff and volunteers on a wild-goose chase until last night when she finally went into a trap and was captured! She is back at the shelter, safe & sound!

If that's not enough to celebrate, there's more: Stevie, our 10-year-old blind Lab, found his wonderful forever home after waiting over eight months!

Really -- is there anything I need to add???

Happy day!

Dog Walkers Needed Sept. 12 & 14

Three of our regular volunteers who walk Tuesday and Thursday will be on vacation next week. They asked if I could let you know. Normally, this dedicated group of volunteers get all of the large dogs and the crated dogs in the kennel out those two days.

Please, if you are able, stop down Sept. 12 and 14 to walk dogs!
Volunteers Needed for Fall For Animals
Logan with New Family

Please let Phyllis know if you can bake  or volunteer at this year's Fall for the Animals. Besides being a lot of fun, it raises money for our orphans. And last year -- as a direct result of attending and being featured for adoption (and despite being forced to wear a dinosaur outfit) -- our own Logan (on right in above photo) was adopted the following week!
