Food Lit Book Group

Come join Wilton Library's book group dedicated to 'food literature.' This month's book is Voracious: A Hungry Reader Cooks Her Way through Great Books by Cara Nicoletti. Pamela Lillis, a nutritional health coach, avid reader, and lover of food lit, moderates the discussion. All are welcome.  More info & register
Autumn Poetry with Judson Scruton: William Butler Yeats and his Contemporaries

Judson Scruton leads this four-part series exploring the poetry of William Butler Yeats and his contemporaries. Yeats was one of the foremost poets of the 20th century. Each week, we will study Yeats' poems and compare them to his contemporaries: Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Oscar Wilde, Ezra Pound, and T.S. Eliot. More info & register
The Early Years of WWI, A Two-Part Series, with Jean-Pierre Lavielle & Judge Michael Shay
Thursdays, November 3 &10 @7pm 
Join Jean-Pierre Lavielle and Judge Michael Shay for the next two-part program in our World War I series. In Part 1 on November 3, Mr. Lavielle will take a European perspective addressing the military operations on the Western Front from the beginning of the war (August 1914) until the arrival of the first "doughboys" in September 1917. In Part 2 on November 10, Judge Shay will take an American perspective recounting the story of the "Yankee Division" which filled its ranks with men from the New England states. Hot & Cool: Jazz at the Brubeck Room - The Brubeck Songbook featuring The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, Hilary Kole & Michael Bourne

Musicians Chris and Dan Brubeck, sons of jazz giant Dave Brubeck, head a versatile band (with Mike DeMicco and Chuck Lamb) in concert with the celebrated Manhattan singer-pianist Hilary Kole and Michael Bourne of WBGO Jazz88.3 radio. They will perform a selection of Dave and Iola's most famous, as well as some lesser-known, songs. Suggested donation: $10. Teens: Check It Out! Money How To's for High School Students

This interactive workshop will help teens identify what checking account is best and what is required to open it; various ways to deposit and withdraw money; writing checks; reconciling accounts and strategies for avoiding overdrawing accounts; debit cards and ATM use; identity theft and how to avoid it. Flu Shot Clinic at Wilton Library
Saturday, November 5 @10-11:30am 
Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County will administer flu shots to anyone age 4+. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No appointment needed. Cost of the flu shot is $42 payable by cash or check or it can be billed directly to select insurance plans. Bring your insurance card.
