Ben's Jammin' Treasures 3-Year Anniversary & Ribbon Cutting

Ben's Jammin' Treasures is opening a new art space at their current location!  Come cut the ribbon and celebrate their 3-Year Anniversary.   Enjoy refreshments and take advantage of the special sale during the event: 20% off any regular priced purchase / 10% off regular priced furniture.

The new art room will have Open Art Time  where children and adults can come and use their art supplies and express their creativity.  Open Art will be free during the event, and going forward on Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5:30 Open Art will be free for ages 18 and under.

After the event Ben's Jammin' Treasures will have the following new hours:

Wednesday  11am - 6pm
Thursday-Friday 11am - 8pm
Saturday 10am - 5pm
Sunday 1pm - 5pm
closed on Monday and Tuesday

The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is working on our Annual Holiday Shopping Card Promotion for November 26 (Small Business Saturday) through December 31, 2016.  The program is a continuation of our active Buy Local Initiative and is a way to encourage the Bethlehem community to support local businesses during the Holiday shopping season before making trips to area malls and Black Friday sales.

Participation is open to Member and Non-Member businesses.

10,000 cards are printed in November and distributed:
* 2016 Bethlehem Turkey Trot: As a sponsor, the Chamber distributes cards to approximately 3,000 participants during Pre-Registration
* Spotlight Newspaper: Chamber inserts Holiday Cards into 5,000+ papers (11/23/16 edition) distributed by mail and on newsstands in town.
* Community locations: Bethlehem Town Hall, Bethlehem Public Library, local post offices, Bethlehem Chamber office, Saturday and Tuesday Farmers Markets
* Member and Participating Businesses: Cards are given to member and participating businesses to distribute to customers

Advertising is purchased locally to make the community aware of the program.

Support your community by picking up a FREE Holiday Shopping Card and utilizing the specials and promotions presented by local businesses.  Look for the card in your 11/23/16 Spotlight edition, at participating businesses, and other key community locations.  And 
purchase  a  Shop Bethlehem Gift Card  online or at the Chamber office (M-F 9am-5pm), which can be used like cash at 40 participating local businesses.

Tonight the Community Caregivers is teaming up with the Bethlehem Public Library to bring you  Effective Communication Strategies from 6-7pm. CAP COM Federal Credit Union is reuniting hearts this Veterans Day with its Reunite Flight program. The program will help active military personnel travel to be with their families when it otherwise might not be possible. This is CAP COM's newest initiative to recognize and thank active service members for all they do to protect and serve our country.  Members of the community can visit the website to nominate an active member of the military that they feel is deserving of a Reunite Flight. Two people will be chosen to receive free, round-trip airfare to visit their family over the next year. Winners will be announced on Veterans Day and will have until the end of 2017 to book their flight.  All nominations are due by Monday, October 31 and can be submitted through CAP COM's online portal or nomination forms are available in all ten branch locations including Glenmont.

Join Grassroot Givers for their annual community service day,  A Day of Simple Giving, on November 5 from 10am-1pm at  St. Sophia's Church, 440 Whitehall Road in Albany. Volunteers will get to assemble gift bags filled with household items (laundry detergent, paper towels), create centerpieces for the Equinox Thanksgiving dinner, and much more.
