AUGUST 2017: OUR BUSIEST MONTH EVER
Thanks for a Great Month!
A very heartfelt thank you to our Restoring Hope Transplant House family of guests for your help in making August 2017 our BUSIEST MONTH EVER since we opened our doors to transplant families in 2013. Appreciate all you do to make this house a home!   
 
It truly was a special group that included a wonderful gentleman who finally was cleared to head home yesterday after a 68 day stay here at Restoring Hope Transplant House.  Congratulations Mr. Williams and all of our other families who are homeward bound!

New Mexico & Nicaragua: Our 36th Different State & 4th Different Country!

Always great to welcome transplant families from a new state and last month we enjoyed spending time with our first visitors from New Mexico. 

As the story goes, these guys were "the only 3 siblings in the world to all have kidney-pancreas transplants"...and two of them who were featured in the UW Transplant Program Annual Calendar ended up spending the week with us here at Restoring Hope.  Thanks for a great visit guys!

On The Road Again: Lions Clubs of Wisconsin
We look forward to getting back out on the road very soon to visit our Lions Club supporters and friends throughout the state of Wisconsin.  We appreciate all of their support for our expansion and renovation plans and the love they have shown all of our guests.   
 
During these very busy times, their regular donations of household supplies and gift cards to help purchase daily breakfast foods and other frequently used products is also a huge blessing to all who call RHTH home. 
 
While RHTH may be located many miles from a lot of these clubs, this house welcomes so many of their neighbors, co-workers, family members and even the occasional Lions Club member.  We look forward to seeing many of you again in the coming months - thanks again for the opportunity and support!   
 
To our guests, if you ever meet or personally know a Lions Club member, please take a moment to share your transplant story with them, tell them you stayed at Restoring Hope and PLEASE THANK THEM for all they do for this house and the transplant community.  Good people like these really make this all possible!
You Can Help!

Financial contributions and donations of daily used supplies are so crucially important to any non-profit and RHTH is certainly no different.  We appreciate Jones Dairy Farm of Fort Atkinson for another generous donation of tasty breakfast sausage for us to serve our guests at breakfast.

We are also actively searching for major donors to help with our joint efforts with the Lions Clubs of Wisconsin and others to help push us over the top for our extensive plans to renovate and add on to the current house as well as monthly donors and fundraisers to help with operating expenses.  This will ensure that Restoring Hope Transplant House becomes a longtime fixture in both downtown Middleton and in the transplant community.  If you have any suggestions, connections or interest please contact Executive Director Cindy Herbst at 608-831-1726 or via email at [email protected].  Please help!

Support the transplant community when you make a secure online donation via PayPal to Restoring Hope Transplant House.  The $45 a night we currently charge transplant families is not nearly enough to offset our regular expenses so we depend almost entirely on your generosity.  During a typical summer heat wave, our air conditioning bill alone can be several hundred dollars each month.  Please help if you can - your contributions are critical!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Dance Fundraiser In Oshkosh
Restoring Hope Transplant House was chosen by Beta Sigma Phi as their state service project for the next three years.  One of the nominating members knew a guest that stayed at RHTH which we understand was a very important part of being selected.

How grateful we are to this group and all of our visiting guests who help spread the word about Restoring Hope throughout their communities.  What a difference these grassroots efforts can make.

An Organ Donor Dance Fundraiser event is being held once again this year up in Oshkosh this September 10th with proceeds going to benefit Restoring Hope.  We appreciate this event and the long-term commitment to the house and our families!

The Muenchow family hosts this outing in memory of their father, Steve. Steve was a two-time kidney transplant patient. His first transplant was in 1991 from a deceased donor and his second transplant was from their beautiful mother in 2007. Their father passed away suddenly in 2014 due to stage four terminal lung cancer. He had a passion for the game of golf, and an even greater passion for organ, eye, and tissue donation!

More golfers, sponsors and volunteers are all very much appreciated.  All proceeds benefit The Restoring Hope Transplant House.

Restoring Hope Transplant House is a non-profit home established to serve organ and bone marrow transplant patients and their families. The home features six generously-sized guest rooms, multiple sitting rooms, full kitchen, laundry, cable tv, wi-fi and a tranquil yet convenient location in downtown Middleton, just five miles from UW Hospital.
