Hot Springs Welcome Center Update

We look forward to the flawless sunny days and cool, crisp nights of Fall in Hot Springs!  Summer has been gorgeous so far.  Bountiful rain and sunshine have produced lush gardens, verdant forests and healthy creeks and rivers.

The mission at the Welcome Center is to keep you updated on current events and happenings in our area.   Our friendly staff is here to answer questions and make suggestions about lodging, restaurants, and places to explore.  Exhibits describe our rich history and the natural world around us.  Stop by, or give us a call at 828-622-9932.

The Welcome Center is operated by the Hot Springs Tourism Association, with support from the Town of Hot Springs and the Madison County Tourism Development Authority.

Remembering the German Internment

Hot Springs, NC has the distinction of being one of only three German Internment Camps in the US during World War I.  Most of the 'Enemy Aliens' were civilian crew members of German commercial ships docked at American ports.  These musicians, artists and craftsmen created a beautiful village during their short stay; and taught, entertained, and worked alongside local townsfolk.

Please join us for this Once-in-a-Hundred-Years-Event!  The Centennial Commemoration will include a wreath ceremony at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, live brass band music on the Spa Grounds, a photo slideshow at the Library, movies and presentations at the Welcome Center, and a photo exhibit and service at the Dorland Presbyterian Church.  See flyer below for details.

Deep Water Soul Fest

Happening Soon! September 22-24 at the Hot Springs Spa Campground.
The Line-Up for this First Annual Festival is Phenomenal.

Leaf Peak:  It's Coming Sooner than You Think.

This summer has been somewhat hot and humid with locals and guests alike hitting the river and many swimming holes for heat relief.  But the fall season and cooler weather will be here soon!  The mountains and hiking trails of the Pisgah National Forest make for some spectacular picture taking opportunities.

Feel free to stop by the Welcome Center for directions and maps detailing the local trails for you to explore.  Leaf season is also a busy time of year for tourism and many cabins and rooms reserve quickly.  You can research online the various local places available to rent at HotSpringsNC.org

Civil War Skirmish Reenactment in Town has been
Cancelled for November 3rd-5th.

Due to the current disturbing climate of civil unrest in the United States; for the protection and safety of spectators and participants; and to take a moment to reflect on our values as Americans; the organizers of the reenactment - The 2nd NC Mounted Infantry -  have cancelled this, as well as other events for the remainder of the year.

We continue to pray for peace and unity amongst our families, neighbors and fellow countrymen.
