At a campaign event Tuesday, Broome County Executive Debbie Preston announced she'll join with Suffolk County, New York in a lawsuit against the makers of opioid painkillers.

Then John Kaehny, the executive director of Reinvent Albany, will explain watchdog groups' letter to Empire State Development President & CEO Howard Zemsky urging him to stop using state nonprofits and SUNY for economic development contract awards because, watchdogs argue, it makes these contracts more prone to corruption and abuse.
