 From the Office
Dear Parents,
I wanted to share one staffing update for parents. One of our special education teachers, Mrs. Trisha Cheney, has accepted a position as a Special Education Coach for the district. All of us would like to thank Mrs. Cheney for her many years of dedicated service to our school and to our students and families. A high quality candidate has been identified to take over as a special education teacher here at the school. That candidate will be starting soon and a transition period will be provided when both Mrs. Cheney and the new teacher will be working together here with the students to provide a smooth transition. More information about the transition will be shared soon.
Sincerely,
Christopher D. Weiss
Riverside School Principal

PLAY IN A DAY
This week professional storytellers from CT Storytelling Center visited our 3rd grade classes to craft a play out of an old fable in a single day. The storytellers guide the students through the process of producing a play which includes: brainstorming a storyline, developing the accompanying dialogue, movement, music and drama!  This production is a tremendous exercise in promoting teamwork, friendships and most of all respect for each other - skills the students refer back to throughout the year.

The Play in A Day program is sponsored by the Riverside School PTA.
