Meet the Hoffman family!

 
Our Focus Family this month is Donna and Jerry Hoffman from Arkansas. While here to be treated for cancer, Jerry ended up in the ER. It was found he needed triple bypass surgery!  

Donna says "The good Lord brought us here for a reason. He had Jerry in the right place to be diagnosed and treated. We were here to receive cancer treatment and we got treated for cancer and a heart issue!

I am a native Texan but have only lived in Katy for about 20 years. I have grown children, 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

I had always been a bookkeeper for small businesses, including my husband's, but after surviving cancer, I decided I would like to do something more people related. After giving it some thought, at age 61, I decided to go back to school to get my Real Estate License. I worked for 17 years for Keller Williams Realty here in Katy. That is how I became interested in helping at The Ballard House. I have been so impressed that the idea for a place to house and serve people with health issues in Katy has grown to the wonderful facility that we have today. My appreciation and thanks go to Cinco Charities, started by Keller Williams Premier and to the Ballard family, for making the dream a reality.

It is a rewarding experience for me to get to be involved at The Ballard House. I enjoy seeing the courage and faith of our guests. I am amazed by the service and generosity of the community; especially the number of youth that give their time to volunteer. It gives me hope for the future and the opportunity to stay actively involved in my community.
