Interdisciplinary Research Group Pilot Grant Program
The Office of Research and Economic Development is sponsoring a pilot program to stimulate the creation of interdisciplinary research groups around any topic that is likely to be supported by significant future federal and private funding. Existing interdisciplinary groups may also apply. ORED will provide a $50,000 grant, which must be matched, to the team submitting the strongest proposal. The funds, totaling $100,000, must be used to fund competitive awards that support collaborative interdisciplinary research projects that are designed to generate preliminary data for subsequent applications for substantial federal or private funding. For assistance in forming an interdisciplinary research group, contact the Research Development team at [email protected] . Read more here .

Call for Proposals in Big Data Research
Proposals are being accepted through November 15 for a new Rutgers grant program to support research in big data analytics. It is intended to foster the creation of data-intensive, multi-disciplinary research collaborations that will enable research teams to compete effectively for external support in areas related to big data analytics. The competition is sponsored by the Office of Research and Economic Development, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the Rutgers Institute for Data Science, Learning, and Applications (I-DSLA), and the Office of Information Technology. I-DSLA is a universitywide, NSF-designated Industry/University Cooperative Research Center site. Read more  here .
