Service Redesign - moving toward independent jobs

The federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (W.I.O.A.) requires people we serve who are working and paid according to their level of productivity to complete career counseling with the Metropolitan Centers for Independent Living (MCIL) no later than July of this year and annually thereafter.

Opportunity Partners is pleased to share that 731 people we serve and/or guardians have completed the required paperwork over the last seven months. Of those completing the paperwork, 27 percent have expressed interest in competitive employment.

We are already helping some of these individuals take that next step toward competitive employment, and we look forward to sharing successes in the near future! Do you have a story to share? Let us know.
