Southern Nevada Trail Running Association flys Nevada State Flag on
Mt.Charleston summit!

Happy Nevada Day!
Glad you guys didn't blow away.

VOTE EARLY

Since 2000, more people in Clark County have voted before Election Day than on Election Day, primarily as a result of Clark County's Early Voting Program.

Nevada Day is a state holiday in Nevada and
celebrated on the last Friday of October each year. It commemorates Nevada's frontier legacy and its entry into the Union as the 36th state on
October 31 in 1864 during the Civil War, by President Abraham Lincoln.

The flag of the state of Nevada consists of a cobalt blue field with a silver star in the upper left hand corner, surrounded by the state name "Nevada." Above this is a golden-yellow scroll with the words "Battle Born," indicating that Nevada became a state during the American Civil War . Below the star are two sprays of green sagebrush (the state flower) with yellow flowers.

This link above is a wealth of information and facts on Nevada. Did you know Nevada has a state Tartan as well as a state Locomotive?
The steam locomotive known as Engine No. 40 was built in 1910. Engine No. 40 is currently located in East Ely, Nevada.
