FUN FISHING DAY - OCTOBER 8th!
We are excited to host the children of the
Ronald McDonald House AND the Shriners Children's Hospital of Galveston at the upcoming FUN FISHING DAY!
The children
will spend the morning at the beautiful Pelican Rest Marina, generously donated by Buddy and Marita Schultz, where they will fish with Club volunteers who will help them bait their hooks and reel in their fish. They will also be treated to a delicious lunch prepared and provided by the Cool Cookers Team, followed by tasty treats donated by Frio's Gourmet Pops and they will end their special day with personal care packages donated by Orca Assets and trophies and pictures of their FUN FISHING DAY!
SPONSORSHIP:
Sponsor the Fun Fishing Day! If you are interested in becoming a Fun Fishing Day Sponsor, please contact the Club at 409-744-2307 / info@hbgfc.com for sponsorship details, levels and benefits.

Captain's Corner
Written by Captain Kevin Deerman
After 14 years of having the opportunity to captain the Legacy for George Gartner, Cameron Plaag and I will be going on to pursue other ventures. George is planning to take a break from fishing but I'm sure he will be back out on the rip soon. We've all had some really great times together and plan to do so in the future. I would like to thank George for all he has done for us, HBGFC and all of the tournaments he participated in. Thanks George!

Announcements
We are extremely sad to report that Founding Club Member Bob Henderson passed away in June of this year. After joining the Club in 2004, Bob participated in the Club Awards Program yearly. Since 2007, Bob placed in the International Top Male Angler Division each year, and won the Top Male Angler Division in 2012 and 2013! Bob's boat Great Escape also placed in the International Top Angler Division each year.
Bob and his passion for big game fishing will be tremendously missed.
