IN THE NEWS: 
NSMH REGIONAL CONFERENCE
The NSMH Western Regional Conference was held at Cal Poly Pomona this past weekend. The schedule included a Q&A with industry leaders, professional development workshops, industry info sessions, and networking. Our students were able to m eet and connect with industry professionals from companies such as Marriott International, Hilton, Starwood, Disney, Sodexo, Hyatt and more! Follow CPP NMSH for updates. 
SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINES
There are several Collins College scholarships with deadlines in the next 60 days. You can check our  calendar  for specific scholarship deadline dates. Be sure to complete your applications soon! 
CMAA SCREAMS FOR ICE CREAM  
CMAA hosted an ice cream float fundraiser last Thursday. The proceeds made from the fundraiser will assist students attending the CMAA World Conference later this year. Follow CMAA on Instagram for more updates!
TAO BRINGS VEGAS TO COLLINS  
TAO Group, a premier restaurant and nightlife group with over 20 venues in New York, Las Vegas and Sydney, held an info session at The Collins College last Tuesday. 
CULINARIANS STACK UP PANCAKES
The United Culinarians held their annual pancake breakfast, their biggest fundraising event of the year, during the pumpkin festival last week. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates to munch on!
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL
Members of NSMH and CMAA got together to network and split some pins at their joint Bowling Social last Thursday at Oak Tree Lanes in Diamond Bar. 
CHANGE OF MAJOR WORKSHOP
If you are planning on changing your major to Hospitality Management, you must attend one of the meetings on Friday, Nov. 18 at from 10 a.m. to noon in room 80-102 or on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in room 80-102. FREEHAND SESSIONS
In anticipation of opening this winter in Downtown L.A., Freehand Los Angeles will be offering a complimentary program for students interested in breaking into the hospitality industry. Beginning in November, the 8-week class will be held every Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and will provide an introduction to all facets of working in a hotel. HACU NATIONAL INTERNSHIP 
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is currently seeking students interested in applying for a Summer 2016 internship in the corporate sector. The program dates are June 17 - August 27, 2017. More information can be found here
THE GREAT CALIFORNIA SHAKEOUT 
On Oct. 20, 10:20 a.m., Cal Poly Pomona will be participating in this year's Great California ShakeOut, an annual drill to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes. Click here for more information.
