Havasu Regional Medical Center is a licensed 171 bed facility certified by Medicare and the Joint Commission. HRMC is one of the largest employers in Mohave County, employing over 700 people. HRMC offers a full complement of patient centered, community hospital and regional referral services in most major medical disciplines. Havasu Regional is a certified Chest Pain Center, designated as a Cardiac Receiving Center, Provisional  Level 3 Trauma Center and is Arizona Perinatal certified.  
 
Each year, HRMC participates in a yearly United Way campaign as well as offering the ability to give in hospital orientation. HRMC offers pay roll deduction which makes it easy for its employees to give and is proud to participate in the Corporate Cornerstone program. Employees are educated about the services and programs affiliated with River Cities United Way as well as given information about the Charitable Organization tax credit, helping to divert those tax dollars paid to Lake Havasu City.

Impact Statistics 
 
8,631 food boxes were distributed at the cost of $229 per household for food for a year through Social Service Interagency Council's Food Bank.
 
Interagency believes people should have hope, dignity, and an enhanced quality of life. The agency assesses community needs, coordinates social services delivery, establishes services and resources, and informs the public.

RADIOTHON RECAP
Fun was had by all during the Radiothon held on September 28th at Radio Central LLC.'s KNTR Talk Radio 106.3.  The show began with with River Cities United Way President/CEO, Lyn Demaret.  Other special guests included: Lori, Debi and Kathy from Interagency, Ryan from Community Legal Services, Gail from K-12 Foundation, Don from Kingman Advice & Aid Pregnancy Center, Catherine from Kingman Area Food Bank, John & Carol from Havasu Community Health Foundation, and Ashley Wood from River Cities United Way. Not pictured was Darla from Parker Senior Center, and Jerry from St. Mary's Food Bank.
 
NEW COIN BOX CAMPAIGN STARTING
We are proud to announce that a combined $555.05 was collected from our Coin Box Partners.  With the generous help of our partners, their staff, and customers - River Cities United Way will be able to assist 106 students enroll in "Happy Healthy Smiles" a 2-week educational curriculum designed to help Kindergarten students learn proper oral hygiene.

CAMPAIGN KICKOFF
Thursday October 6th was filled with food, music and memories.  Several were in attendance at Charles Metcalfe Park for the beginning of the 2016-2017 fundraising campaign, and to celebrate the six years of service Laura Hansen (Kingman Area Manager) provided to River Cities United Way.


Chrysler, Desert De Oro Foods, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Frontier Communications, GEO Group, Harley Davidson, KRMC, McKee Foods, Mohave State Bank, National Bank of Arizona, Romar Beverage, Swire Coca-Cola, True Value, UniSource Energy, United Parcel Services, Wells Fargo Bank, and William McClure were thanked for their support over the past year, and presented with certificates.

Bill DeJulio and Missy Grasser from UniSource were on-hand at both events to present checks awarded to recipients  from their Grants That Make A Difference program.

Friday October 7th a packed house of attendees helped River Cities United Way - Havasu kickoff their campaign with a luncheon held at Shugrues Bridgeview Room. 


Participants brought with them hygiene items to be distributed through the Kids Bright & Healthy program to help students who may need these items, as discretely identified and worked out their the school nurses.  Each person who brought a hygiene item with them were entered into the door prize raffle.



The ladies from Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce won the door prize provided by Sterilite - a laundry basket full of different size containers and kitchen utensils (shown below).

REMINDER: QUALIFIED CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION TAX CREDIT

The Arizona Tax Credit for Donations made to Qualified Charitable Organizations (QCO) program allows your tax dollars to be used locally in support of Mohave and La Paz County residents, your donation provides the means to increase self-sufficiency.

A new law signed by Arizona Governor, May 6 of 2016, increases the maximum credit for contributions made to River Cities United Way through the QCO tax credit program, to four hundred dollars ($400) for single and eight hundred dollars ($800) for married taxpayers.

The contribution deadline for tax year 2016 is April 15, 2017.
