North Branch Area Library to host Play & Learn Space open house Wednesday, Nov. 2

All kids love cars, trucks, trains and everything that moves.

The new "Moving All Around" North Branch Area Library play and learn space focuses on everything transportation and includes a Duplo table along with many My First Duplo Sets, a wallmounted submarine, a sky pilot and safety road manipulative, a car activity center and more!

The play and learn space focuses on "play," one of the five basic literacy skills established by the Every Child Ready to Read program developed by the American Library Association. Those skills include playing, talking, singing, reading and writing. Play is not only inherently valuable as a pleasurable activity, it is how kids learn and is an integral part in the development of the four other literacy skills.

We invite you to join us for the play and learn space open house on Wednesday, November 2 at 11:00 am (following preschool storytime) to celebrate this new learning area at the library. Refreshments will be served by the Friends of the North Branch Area Library. Funds for the space were made possible by an anonymous donor.
MNLINK just got easier to use with new design

Have you seen the new MNLINK?

MNLINK is a statewide system that serves the discovery and interlibrary loan needs of library patrons and staff. Searching MNLINK, patrons have easy access to search the catalogs of most libraries in Minnesota, all in one place. MNLINK also provides access to electronic resources that are available to Minnesotans, including Minnesota Reflections and ELM.

MNLINK received an upgrade in September, updating to a modern and fully responsive design for easier use on any device you choose. MNLINK is your connection to items not owned by East Central Regional Library, including books, articles, movies, images, music, and more. Try the new look at  MNLINK.org!

How does MNLINK work?  Place a request for an item that you want, and let the system do the work finding a library with a copy to lend. It's as easy as 1-2-3:
  1. Search MNLINK for desired materials.
  2. Login, select and request the item you want.
  3. Access online content immediately or retrieve materials from your local library when they have arrived. Your library will contact you when material is available for pickup
