There is as much excitement at Notre Dame School as there is in Chicago and Cleveland for the World Series. Our volleyball and soccer teams are on the way to their respective playoffs. The volleyball team has won every game and every set of the season. Congratulations team and Coach Vecchio P'18. Our soccer team finished the regular season with a record of 9-0-2 and have earned the #1 seed in the playoffs. Congratulations to the team and to Coach Fowler AP'12,'14. Best of luck to both teams as they begin their playoff campaigns.

We look forward to our annual Open House this Sunday, Oct. 30 th , from
2:30 to 5:00 p.m. here on W. 13 th St.  We expect prospective students from every borough in N.Y.C.  as well as guests from Westchester and New Jersey.  Should you know a young girl in grades 6, 7 or 8, please invite her to join us to learn first-hand about Notre Dame's amazing facilities, delightful students and enriching curriculum.

As we turn toward November, we will celebrate the Feast of All Saints and All Souls, two days that remind us we are pilgrims on this earth and that life is a gift from God.  The words from the second reading for the Feast of All Saints seem especially encouraging, "Dearly beloved, we are God's children now; what shall later be has not yet come to light.  We know that when it comes to light, we shall be like God for we shall see God as God is." (1 John 3:2.)

Let us hold on to this hope to which we are called.  May our human exchanges mirror the mercy and love of God.  We promise to pray for all the members of our Chez Nous family, living and deceased.

Warm regards,

Dr. Virginia O'Brien, S.U.
New Faces Chez Nous

With the opening of the 2016-2017 school year, (Our 104th!) we welcomed a host of new faces to our  Chez Nous Family. The 90 members of the Notre Dame Class of 2020 broke records even before the first day of school as they became the largest 9th grade class in the school's history. "The Class of 2020 represent the best and brightest students from elementary and middle schools in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, Queens and New Jersey" says Bob Grote, Director of Admissions. We look forward to sharing the great work and achievements of this bright and talented group of students!

In addition to the class of 2020 we welcomed two new faculty members, Mr.
Mr. Scott Vasey and Ms. Sarah Lindvall
