Attached are flyers for this year's Back to School Bash. The event will be held at the Belle Glade Boys and Girls Gymnasium on July 29, and backpacks, school supplies and more will be distributed. Individuals who are affiliated with an agency must call to RSVP.

We are currently soliciting for volunteers to assist with set up prior to the event, which will take place at West Tech beginning on July 14th through July 28th. We will need volunteer support on the day of the event.

Camelot Community Care is excited to expand our presence in the Glades.  We license foster home in Palm Beach County for children removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.  An orientation/information session has been scheduled for late July, with a training class set to begin soon after.  Both events will be held in South Bay.

Jessie Levi Memorial Scholarship for Glades Health Students

The scholarship is awarded by Heka Healthcare Consulting, LLC to undergraduate, minority college students from the Glades area. One recipient will be selected to receive a $250 stipend to help offset the cost of books and tuition.

Senator Latvala to Hold Opioid Crisis Roundtable
 
Senator Jack Latvala, Chairman of the Florida Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that he will hold a roundtable discussion on the opioid epidemic next month in Palm Beach County. Latvala was invited by Senator Kevin Rader and Palm Beach County Commissioner Melissa McKinlay to visit Palm Beach County to learn first-hand about the issues surrounding the epidemic of opioid overdoses.

CSC's Great Ideas Initiative Awards Funding to Local Nonprofits

For a second year, Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County is releasing funds to encourage local nonprofits to be creative - to try something new, address a community need or fuel a pilot project.

Those interested in this opportunity must submit an application by mail or hand-delivered that shows how their Great Idea would enhance the lives of Palm Beach County's children (prenatal - age 18) and their families.

Funding is available in four categories:

  • Supplies/Equipment
  • Community Outreach/Engagement
  • Capacity Building
