Hey Brewster Day Camp!

COALESCE: [koh-uh-les] (v): to blend or come together. As week 5 approaches us, we notice various elements of camp that begin to COALESCE. For starters, it is Tie-Dye week; the week where campers learn about the art of how a multitude of colors can be mixed together through various patterns and art forms.

On a small scale, we can imagine the various activities we offer at camp as different colored dyes that are meant to be tied. For example, the lessons campers learn at ECOD can translate to the challenges at BDOC, and so on. It is important to make connections between activities at camp, or in our lives at large, and appreciate COALESCENCE.

BDC is at it's half-way point; now the first half and second half of the summer blends and comes together. With transitions like these, we can imagine our past experiences blending with our future, creating a tie-dye like present moment!

As with any other life experience, we intend for our campers to always remember the values and lessons learned at camp as they ultimately COALESCE into the school year.

As we wear our tie-dye on Friday, we will be intentional about enjoying the present moment while our past and our future COALESCE!
