Stonewall Falls Hike

Outing Description: Fall color should be at peak at the time of this walk. Stonewall Falls will be the starting point, and birding will be at a leisurely pace as we walk along the creek or old roadway. Most of the birds seen will be winter residents, but some may be migrants as well.
Hike Location: Stonewall Falls, near Tiger, Georgia
Meeting Time and Place: Meet at 8:00am at the Tiger Mart on Old Hwy 441 in Tiger, GA. We will carpool to the trailhead. Directions: Coming from Atlanta, head north on 85 to north 985 and continue onto north 23 to north 441. Follow toward Clayton, GA. Before Clayton, turn left at the Tiger Connector (see Goats on a Roof store at intersection) and follow to intersection with Old Hwy 441. See Tiger Mart at intersection. Outing Location: Stonewall Falls, near Tiger, GA Distance and Difficulty: Walking along an old roadbed is relatively easy. There will be some uneven ground along the creek. Total distance will be less than a mile depending on the wishes of the group. Participant Limit: 15 What to Bring and Wear: Plenty of water, snacks, raincoat, and good hiking shoes. Also, bring your binoculars, scope and field guide if you have them. (If allergic to bees/wasps, remember to bring your meds/epi-pen.) Cancellation/Rain Date: Hikers will be notified if hike is canceled due to forecast of severe weather, etc.
