Renovation Continues on the Bell Tower
A MeNeely Chime similar to the one in the tower
of Saint Paul's Church. Our chime was installed in 1922. 3 new bells were added in 1995.

Updated "Bells" inside the church as well

Have you noticed an improvement in the sound of the bells that play before church starts on Sunday mornings? Our tower bells can't be heard inside the church so for years the organ was equipped with a program that plays a recording of real bells which are amplified by speakers inside the organ's State Trumpet box located near the ceiling above the balcony. Thanks to a generous gift from Cobbs and Minta Nixon and Pam and Nick Uros we were able to replace the previous bell recording with one of bells that closely match our own. We have also produced a new playlist called "Iron Man" that includes many appropriate selections of music for the race. The playlist controls the tower bells which can be heard for a radius of several miles and was used for this past month's race. Saint Paul's Church has 14 real bells in the tower with the largest weighing in at 1 and half tons.

Please make checks payable to Saint Paul's Church for ERD and your gift will be sent with others to support this effort.
Coats for Kids at Craig
Beginning this Sunday
Fall is here. These cool days and clear, chilly nights are great when you have a good coat or jacket. But it's hard to concentrate on school if you are shivering with cold. Many kids at Craig-Houghton Elementary School are facing just that situation as we head toward winter. We need donations of boys' and girls' coats and jackets from children's size 6 through adult extra-large. New and gently used light jackets and heavier coats are both needed, along with hats, gloves, and scarves. Donation boxes are located in the narthex and in Tyler Hall.  If you would questions or would like more information about our programs at Craig-Houghton Elementary contact Kathy Enicks.

Evensong
Sunday, November 6, 5:30
PM,  Nave
Evensong is the ancient service of Vespers and continues to be sung daily in cathedrals throughout the world. The Saint Paul's Choir sings Evensong twice during the year, in the fall and in the spring. A reception hosted by the parishioners of Saint Paul's Church follows in Tyler Hall. Mark Dickens will be the guest organist and the service will include the premiere of the Preces and Responses composed by Heard Robertson, former Head Boy of the Canterbury Choir, now a dad with four children. Heard's brother, Jonathan, will be the cantor. This is a great occasion to invite friends to visit Saint Paul's.
