OPENING STATEMENT

PSSST . . . one more secret.

This is the last secretive newsletter you will be getting from Gordon Law. Over the course of the last several months, we have examined secrets and how to legally protect your confidential information. In August, we talked about the Attorney/Client Privilege. Last month, we discussed Non-Disclosure Agreements. This month, I welcome you into the world of protecting trade secrets. A business' ability to protect its own trade secrets just became stronger with federal protection under the Defend Trade Secrets Act.

Read below about trade secrets and please visit Gordon Law's website to review our blog library.
DISCOVERY

No matter what type of business you are in, you possess trade secrets. Trade secrets can be defined as broadly as information that derives economic value; is not readily ascertainable; and is the subject of efforts to maintain its secrecy. Please read here on how you can protect that information.
IN SUMMATION

In these highly political times, you may want to also keep secret which candidate you will support on November 8, 2016 (or if you vote early starting October 22, 2016). However, I cannot encourage you strongly enough to actually cast your ballot for the candidate(s) of your choice. I have had the privilege of serving on the Henderson Chamber of Commerce IMPAC committee. The IMPAC committee has vetted local candidates and made endorsements I hope you find helpful. You can find those endorsements here.
