Global Debt Hits All-Time High Of $152 Trillion; billionaire warns of "big squeeze"
"This is a global problem," said billionaire hedge fund manager Ray Dalio yesterday to a packed audience of central bankers.
"Japan is closest to its limits, Europe is a step behind it, the US is a step or two behind Europe, and China is a few steps behind the United States."
I can only imagine the mood in the room was a bit tense after that comment.
Mr. Dalio, founder of the $160 billion investment firm Bridgewater Associates, was invited to speak at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's 40th Annual Central Banking Seminar yesterday.
Rather than gush about how wonderful the Fed's zero interest rate policies have been since the financial crisis, Dalio gave them a fire hose of reality.

Island1211 - Was the RV ever going to happen without a fair system oil companies could trust? I wanted to highlight today's news that Kurdistan has hired DeLoitte to be their oversight of their oil production. This comes after Barzani and Abadi's meetings, and directly is related to an Oil and Gas law agreement.
Baghdad has to have faith in the Kurd's oil accounting.
No more under reporting oil production
No more illegal sale of oil by the Kurds.
Corruption has to stop.
The citizen's share of oil has to be fairly and correctly accounted for.

Dane Perfect timing JC. I've been thinking about this US debt being banked at the IMF.
Since we aren't in a gold standard anymore could this US debt be used as a sort of current day gold deposit? A sort of USD standard? The USD does have similar confidence behind it and this could serve as an anchor while at the same time curb sales of it.

Precious Metals Panic Selling? Or Something Else?

This is a re-post from an article which was originally posted on July 7, 2016. One of the other aspects of the POM thesis is that gold will see a price drop to below $1000.00/oz. as the SDR and RMB liquidity expands and USD liquidity contracts.
The on-going drop in gold today could very well be a first sign of this shift. The metrics and fundamentals are being widely speculated with the usual "gold is getting hammered" scripts unfolding across the internet.
The fact is that just two trading days after the new renminbi loaded SDR basket composition was implemented we are seeing massive devaluation in precious metals. Could be a coincidence.
Gold is still up from the beginning of the year and will likely have another rally before further depreciation is experienced. But this could very well signal the beginning of a new gold bear market, as previously discussed. - JC
