Bike Rides This Week & More
Yes, the summer is over, but here in Texas we are STILL enjoying some spectacular cycling weather.

The City of Dallas invited us to produce a bike trail ride as part of the Trinity River Wind Festival. This little gem is a great ride for entry level cyclists and family groups - offering shorter routes on pavement and on mixed surface (pavement and gravel). It's a great way to get there early for all the kite flying and Frisbee Dog exhibitions and more.

To wrap it up, my tip this week is don't just ride and use up your fitness. BUILD your fitness by participating in a structured training program. No matter what sport you participate in, practicing skills and drills improves performance. We've been guiding cyclists through the winter months with a minimal time/maximum return program since 2000. Check it out and see what we're all about. Ride on!
Farmersville, TX - October 22

The friendly folks at the local Chamber of Commerce began organizing this ride several years ago. They make it better every year. Offering routes of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 62 miles, everybody can find something to ride. Ask about the North East Texas Trail while you are in town. Start time is 9:00am.

Dallas, TX - October 29

The Trinity River Ramble debuts this year as part of the Trinity River Wind Festival. This Family Friendly event offers two routes - one paved and one with both pavement and gravel surfaces. Participants will get easy access to the rest of the days activities because the trail ride is the first event on the schedule. Children 12 & and under ride for $10 with a paid adult registration.

Winter Indoor Cycling Begins November 7

Whether you are looking to get stronger, lose weight or simply keep your fitness levels up during the winter months - this program will work for you. Our format works for all ability levels and we offer 8 sessions each week. Our schedule also includes a Core & More Class that will keep your core muscles toned and flexible.

Out on a recent ride, we stopped in Weston for a break. A cyclist there recognized me and asked about our group. When she asked how fast we were riding, I told her we were enjoying a nice, 15mph pace. She was aghast, stating that "You've got to be faster than that". When I told her that I ride for fun and fitness, we had a rather lively conversation. My thought is that it does not matter how fast I ride, it matters how much I enjoy the ride.

Ride on!
