You're halfway there!

The fall semester is just about halfway done.

We are checking in to make sure that your semester is moving along smoothly and that you have what you need. Keep reading for some helpful study resources and tips for an effective study break.

Plus, check out what other online students are saying about eLearning at UAA!

Midterms & Study Tools

Midterms are either here or coming up soon - we are seeing many midterms this week! They're a reminder that the semester is half over! Whether you have exams, projects, or papers that you are working on, here are some online study tools that could help you out.
  1. Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL)
A great resource for help with writing, citations, grammar, and more.
  2. Desmos
    A free, online graphing calculator.
  3. StudyBlue
Create online flashcards and access them from any device.
Study Break

Don't forget to step away from your work every once in awhile. Stepping away will help keep you refreshed - just make sure you get back to your books!

Set a timer for 15 minutes and do one of the following:
  1. Eat a snack and drink a glass of water.
  2. Watch this TED Talks video
  3. Exercise and stretch - take a short walk.

Feedback on the Blackboard Orientation

eLearning has offered a Blackboard Orientation course each semester for a few years now - most of you have probably seen it over the semesters as you enroll in online classes. We strive to keep it current and relevant which is where the feedback survey helps us move forward.
  • 57% said that the orientation helped them feel better prepared for their online course while 36% already felt prepared
  • Of the 8% who did not feel the orientation was helpful, it was because they either have used the orientation in the past or they were already familiar with the features
  • Several students commented and rated that more help with Collaborate would be nice in the future
I hope that the orientation course helped most of you feel better prepared at the beginning of the semester. If you can think of anything you would like to see added or changed, we are always open to new ideas!

We welcome any questions or comments about topics you would like to see in future publications or about eLearning at UAA in general.
